I didn’t know!

This morning I was doing my usually Sunday morning/afternoon thing sitting with a cup of coffee, listening to my children argue about who was going to wash dishes and do other cleaning and reading through interesting blogs and other web info. As usual, www.principalspage.com had his latest blog entry posted on plurk for everyone to visit. Being that I can’t resist a URL in a plurk post, over I went.

The Secret to Life, Blogging and Everything else is the insight I’ve been missing! I’ve been reading all sorts of self-help and self-improvement books for information that might help me to take that next step in life and career. My latest reads are PRESENCE by Peter Senge, C.Otto Scharmer, Joseph Jaworski and Betty Sue Fowers, A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle and EVERYTHING IS MISCELLANEOUS by David Weinberger. At school I’ve two or three books on the go, depending where I am during our school’s DEAR time.

All this has now become somewhat of a mute point since finding and reading Principalspage. I will probably finish the books I’m reading just because I don’t like to leave something half-read. It’s doing something half-baked, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth! Instead, I will now devote my time to following the suggestions from Principalspage. This will definitely make life much easier and, I think, really take some of the burden and stress off of myself. In fact, by following the sage advice, I’m sure I will have more time to do other things in my life that I have been putting off like spending time with my children, playing games with my children, reading books with my children and generally just being more involved in the lives of my children. Now, this might actually disturb my older girls who have been very content with the fact that I spend a great deal of time doing other things as I will have more time to ask them really awkward and potentially embarrassing questions. But, when they are much older, I’m sure they will be much happier and look back fondly on the life altering moment. In fact, I’m sure they will probably send cards of thanks to Principalspage for the great advice that I received. I know my wife will greatly appreciate the change in lifestyle brought about by this. She’s always wanted to be able to send me out to take the kids to different things. Oh, which reminds me, I have to take 1st son to a hockey game. I’d better be off.

Again, thanks to Principalspage, I realize that I need to reevaluate what I’ve been doing since, really, all you need to do is show up!

You should have asked me earlier… sounds like I could have saved you a lot of trouble. And reading.

Nice blog post. Of course, I like any blog post that mentions me.
